Idiro delivers rotational churn management software for mobile telecommunications
Idiro Fingerprinting 1.0 enables companies to reduce the cost of mobile phone customers who leave and return to take advantage of marketing offers
In the world of mobile telecommunications, several factors have combined to promote the phenomenon of rotational churn, also known as “churn and return” and “spinning”. Aggressive marketing campaigns and new service providers have lured an increasing number of customers, especially pre-pay customers, to leave their service provider - only to immediately return so that they can take advantage of the benefits offered to new customers.
Rotational churn brings with it a host of problems for the company, including misleading marketing campaign data and wasted resources. Fingerprinting 1.0 analyses call data to identify “spinners”.
“Stopping people from changing their SIM card to take advantage of new customer benefits such as low tariffs or new handsets is always going to be a problem,” says Simon Rees, Idiro Head of Business Development. “Idiro's Fingerprinting technology empowers companies to avoid wasting money on unnecessary new customer activity, such as a standard call from customer service or an informational pack sent out in the post.”
Idiro Fingerprinting also helps maintain an accurate customer history, which benefits general marketing strategy and cross- and up-sell activities.
“Rotational churn is estimated to be around 50% of all churn in the telecoms industry. With Fingerprinting 1.0 we are able to help our customers understand it better and control it,” says Aidan Connolly, Idiro CEO.
Idiro Fingerprinting 1.0 is currently in use at a number of major European mobile network operators.
